Welcome to EyeTV 500

This is the site for all Elgato EyeTV 500 users. Here we will present and discuss all of the ways in which we use our EyeTV 500 USA digital television tuners with our Macintosh computers for off air and cable digital SD and HD viewing, recording and archiving. The newest version 1.8.4 of EyeTV digital recorder application provides video iPod campatible presets. But these presets are not necessarily the best way to get that job done.

Suffice to say owners of know that the computing power required to successfully archive programs in a reasonable amount of time is not yet available - even in a quad PowerMac. Much more power is needed to be able to archive program recordings quickly.
